Yeah I thought this was for the band Disillusion
Garden Window didn't really stand out to me, but I'll check this out.

Greg, I read this review over again tonight, and I have one particular issue with it.
One of your main points is that this record is bound to show up in end-of-year lists, but my question is this: why does that matter? I don't mean to sound confrontational about it, because that surely isn't my intention. But I suppose my experiences with this band have been more personal than anything, and because of that, I can't say that such a description of this record appeals to me at all-- and I can imagine many other readers will be in a similar boat.

I used this assumption to relate to the beginning of the review. I think this idea connects the first and last para quite nicely, even though it's not profound at all. It's like another way of saying it lives up to the expectations.

I don't know what it is, but I don't quite like this as much as their first two releases. At no time during the full length was I struck emotively. There were plenty of times where I was like this is freaking awesome but nothing where I could really feel what he was saying. I don't know I'm a bit disappointed but I've given it a four for now and will decide how I feel about it after I listen to it some more. I assume it will be a grower hopefully.

I didn't initially like it much, but it's growing on me, much like Garden Window did, which ended up being one of my favorite albums ever. I think the final three songs are incredible, and have to disagree with you about Radiance... it's a great coda, especially after the seething, brooding menace of Absence.

I really dig the title track and Absence, but Radiance does nothing for me. I also think Oblivion could've been much stronger.

Album was pretty good on first listen, although it sounded a bit too much like Alice in Chains. I preferred their early
sound on Death of Day.

I know nothing about this band and more importantly I know almost nothing about post-rock but I'm definitely digging this album
