look up "steven wilson ipod," "steven wilson boyband rant," "steven wilson insurgentes documentary" on youtube, and you'll see. there's others but i can't remember. he's just very arrogant and makes a habit out of insulting other bands and music cultures he doesn't think are "correct"

Kill puts it nicely in his Up the downstair review.
"steven may be a massive bell-end, but there's absolutely no denying his chops"
|
| |
I definitely picked up some of his arrogance with the Prog awards, he literally wins/gets nominated for EVERYTHING and it's so frustrating because people just vote for him because he's pretty much the most popular/mainstream-accessible artist
|
| |
To be honest, I understand what he says about iPods but destroying them is a bit stupid. The boyband thing is just cringeworthy though, even if I don't like boybands myself
|
| |
He's not short on smug. It's all that tea i reckon.
|
| |
Oi, don't diss tea
|
| |
i luv tea lol. mainly green tea tho

When I met him at my local record store he was very down to earth and humble.
|
| |
I'm sure he's a great guy, perhaps the fame's got to his head a bit

Mad: Well yes, in a world where people like Gary Glitter managed to reach stardom and Mick Jagger is
allowed to sing songs about having sex with 13 year olds in front of thousands of people, Wilson being
'a bit of a knob' isn't really that bad at all. And Im sure at heart he's a great guy. I don't hate
the man and I of course love his work, I just find his public persona a tad obnoxious
|
| |
"Steven Wilson is a bit of a dick, and you all know it."
"the guy creating the music I so dearly loved was a bit of a knob."
"Wilson's most pretentious and indulgent and tiresome release at the time"
"In one of his many rambling, pretentious rants..."
A tad? ; )

Hahahahaha! What can I say, it bugs me ;] Also, you'll note that third point down was about Grace for
Drowning but I did say I liked it. The two main points I wanted to make with this review were that
Wilson was a pretentious guy who didn't make pretentious music until now, and that this was basically
just a 60's/70's prog rip-off. Looking back, I am going to edit this review sometime soon. There's
some pretty awkward fragments of text in here.
|
| |
I did like your review, it's fine how it is, but I think people were getting a bit butthurt about how you seemed to be ripping their beloved SW
|
| |
tsk tsk, should know better than to toy with the fanboys of sir Stevie baby. ; )
|

Who we should all worship is Bruce Soord. That man is awesome in every respect... apart from his hairstyle.
|

i've got tightly unwound on my itunes, might have to spin it again.
|
| |
That's like their 4th best album
|
