Both are really consistent but I think I like Sound Awake's proggy vibe better. I'd take Simple Boy,
New Day, and Deadman over anything on here any day.

Oh my God. Where has this been for all of my life, and why didn't I learn of them sooner? This is one of the best hard rock albums I've ever heard! The singer's voice and general flexibility evoke Sylvan, but he's far easier to understand. The riffs, like the review says, are complex but deeply engaging. Perhaps most excitingly, even through YouTube compression the production values sound damn good.
