Indeed but crusade gets a nice big 1

Will probably go down further once I listen to it again, but I'll keep them that way for now. Everything else seems to be in order, though I have like 200 or so more albums to rate, my computer's memory is almost full I've got so many. Yeah my rating went from 3 to 2.5 to 2, and it'll stay there probably. I never listen to anything lower than a 3. I too had to get an external hard drive, 250gb in fact. Trouble is there's some lag if I try to play something and the drive's been sleeping (ie not in use). Damn you, USB!

True, but there are some bands that have been described as "false metal" that I enjoy, such as System of a Down (though they never claimed to be metal anyway) or Korn (likewise).

What's wrong with you?
Ouch, Conor, how can you listen to Korn? Is it because it's hip?
False Metal bands are bands like Machine Head, Trivium, A7X Atreyu etc.
I would miss none of them.

lol false metal, are you guys serious.
|
| |
Well, it is a fairly well used term.
|
| |
We're all guilty of some form of false metal dude. Laurie, I do believe you wrote a review for Scar Symmetry, am I right? hahahaha
|
| |
haha you win!
|

Death to false metal (avenged sevenfold) :P
|

Well, it is a fairly well used term.
it's still sort of fail imo. I mean, as much as I hate Machine Head, I can't deny that they are a metal band. Same goes for a band like A7x, Atreyu, or Trivium, as they still have at least influences of their forefathers.

yeah it`s similar to the nu-metal threadThis Message Edited On 01.11.09

I was just kind of proving a point Laurie, I didn't mean to take a cheap stab at you or anything. You see, false metal is entirely based on the listeners interpretation of what he/she thinks is legit and what is not legit. I still listen to quite a bit of nu-metal which alot of people pass off as false metal, when truthfully, I would bet them a million bucks that they haven't even skimmed the surface of what's out there.
This album is warming up to me.
|
| |
well, Nu-Metal is more hard rock than metal, but some bands of the genre still could be considered metal (*cough* early Mudvayne *cough*)
Anyways, this is probably the best power metal/power metal-oriented album i've heard. This Message Edited On 01.11.09

Now there is someone who has only skimmed the surface^^^^^ hahahaha.

some nu-metal bands sound like metal and some don`t. It`s just that nu-metal is an overused term in the music industry. just compare Korn or slipknot to, for example Crazy Town. They are utterly differentThis Message Edited On 01.11.09
