@Cipieron, to the first, if you've ever seen them play live, their songs sound very similar to what they do in the studio. Not many metal bands these days are such good performers. and to the 2nd, that's your opinion. But thousands and thousands of fans disagree with you.
@Jazzhands, I wasn't really speaking to you. You seem to just genuinely dislike this album more than their previous albums. And I have no qualms with anything u said in your comment either.

But there are many others who just don't like anything at all similar to the material FFDP releases that come to this page just so they can act like little children.

Lol at your recommendations, and the review was excellent as well, have a well-deserved pos.

I'm listening to this currently and it's really mediocre in comparison to the first two albums. I was hoping the last record was just a fluke.

more like the first two albums were a fluke

Yeah. Second album was their best, it was actually kind of alright IMO. First and third were mediocre and this seems like it'll
be even worse. Nothing against the fans, but the band is trying too hard to seem like tough guys, and it's bleeding into their
songs more and more as they go along. It gets really obnoxious, and quickly. I'll admit that I really like Succubus from the War
bonus tracks, but these guys feel like a guilty pleasure at their best moments. At their worst...
Also, in the summary, you misspelled "c'est" as ce'st.

@MegaJake1024 I don't hate the band. They're not terrible. Their early albums were actually quite good. I just didn't like their last one too much, so pardon me in saying that expectations can shape a later opinion.
And you can't say that they have enough good material for two albums when the second album isn't even released yet. For all we know, it could be completely different from this one. It happened with Coheed and Cambria's previous two albums, so why can't it happen with Five Finger Death Punch?

"This album is very very good. Great guitar work, especially in some acoustic sections. They're one of the few bands that actually can perform the songs they play on studios live just as well. Catchy and aggressive hooks. Good features. Yes, the lyrics are sometimes childish (Burn MF) and they're not switching scales left and right, but they're not trying to do that. Classic sputnikers to go listen to an album they know they'll hate cause they hate the genre and the style of music just so they can go rant about how shitty it is online. Honestly, go do something more meaningful with your lives. No wonder I've stayed off commenting on this site for so long."

Actually that was gwynbleidd reposting it for a lul.
Thing is on its way to becoming an in-joke already.

This album is like if they picked up on the fact that the ballads are oddly the best (least bad) part about the band in spite of being "bro-metal", so they made the ballads shit. And now there's nothing to like. I almost had fun with Burn MF for a few seconds, but ugh.
I laughed my ass off at I.M.Sin: "YOU'RE A FUCKING POSER!". Album gets points for comedy.

Yeah, Mama Said Knock You Out is actually kind of fun, but this is pretty miserable outside of it. The beginning of Burn MF seems like it's gonna be a decent song, but then it sucks.

I was ready to file this under 'mild guilty pleasure,' but then I realised I was only half way through, and that the second disc contained 7 and 10-minute long songs.

they have 3 gold albums in a row, this band could care less about critics

Second disc is a live album, don't worry, you can still guilty pleasure it
Raptors, cut that shit out

I can think of nothing good to say for this band or any of their albums. It reminds me of high school children doing their best Pantera impression. They have about as much integrity as the glam metal bands of the 80's did and their inevitable fade into obscurity will prove it.

Honestly. The childish "do not give a fuck" lyrics and the constant chugging guitars make me think of Attila.
The only problem is, Attila can't be take seriously, which is why their music is enjoyable. FFDP is actually serious about this record, which is why it's distasteful.
