Yes we are going to challenge you when you insist on being uneducated and loud about it. Its not the imagery itself, its the way it is portrayed... And for the record, none of the bands you listed are old school besides autopsy. Shows how much YOU know

im sorry but first two autopsy artworks doesn't even look similar to me.

Dude, without being a jerk about this any further, the style is old school in the way they use cartoonish violence to depict their themes/ music style. I mean, what defines old school dm art than?

What? Are fucking high as a kite? Are you a troll? And all of those bands were a huge part of the early 90s movement in old school dm so I don't know what the fuck you're talking about. I can seriously list off older bands if you would like? I just thought I would throw out some more common bands.

its the way it is portrayed...

Confused by this. So what your saying is that a bunch of cartoonish heads melting in front of cauldron (whatever the fuck it is) isn't portrayed in a way you think is old school dm and that makes it wrong? Dude, stop pretending.

So, all you guys want to do rather than have a valid discussion about the album artwork, you just want to act like children. I don't see how you can't see the old school artwork depicted in this cover.

Look at scream bloody gore, look at severed survival, look at season of the dead(by NECROPHAGIA, a REAL old school band im sure you've never even heard of), look at the true artwork for abominations of desolation(not the censored boring cover), look at altars if madness, look at slowly we rot, look at in the sign of evil, look at endless pain, look at show no mercy, hell fuckin look at the cover of "Swedish death metal" by Daniel ekeroth.... this doesn't give that vibe at all... Its more of a tribute to that cartoon fantasy style but through a more modern lense

I see what you mean but it still follows the book on osdm artwork. Better?

I'm done now, think what you want. Album rules hard.

Nope, never have, please tell me more. And to clear the air a bit, I see what you're saying as well.

Dude wizard you are only further showing your novicedom. I'm not gonna completely embarass you but if you think the early 90s is true old school death metal, lets just say... You have quite a lot to learn

Viper, a 15 year old who is just getting into death metal, clearly has a much greater understanding of what old school death metal really means than you do

Hahahahaha but it is true osdm. There were many awesome bands that came before that time period as well and I understand that. Doesn't mean those bands weren't doing something unique for the scene as well. I love all of the Swedish/ Finnish movements as well. I really don't know where you stand with dm tbqh. You could be one of those peeps who just blog jumps and learns a lot overnight.

I'm gonna actually keep it going for just a little bit longer because I would ultimately like to keep the uneducated 18 year olds from making retarded, uninformed statements in the future

Whatever pissbore, I'm done. I have nothing to prove to you or anyone on this site. Just take a look at my ratings if you need some justification.

I'm a huge Necrophagia fan, and I'll agree the artwork between these two aren't similar. However... having been around for the early death metal scene, this would have fit right in. If you look at the link, this looks eerily similar to the cover for Deteriorate's Rotting In Hell :

old school death metal was on the rise at the time of the early 90s. Most of the bands started in mid to late 80s, but the records didn't come out to the late to early 90s.
