This is what new Satyricon should have sounded like. This record is fun as fuck.

Not their self titled but more the two previous records...bare with me here Ov, before you execute me. I'm about to take you on a journey. This is from back when the genre hasn't evolved. It still has these groove/thrash riffs that move at a mid level pace throughout. It's BM yes but it has this extra groove that doesn't exactly take itself too seriously. I feel like Satyricon has often failed in their attempts of making a totally watered down an mainstream version of the style found on this record.

Exactly, it's relentless an feels extremely organic. I feel like that could have been an evolutionary step for Satyricon if they didn't completely water their sound down. Don't exile me, OV. I DIDNT MEAN ANYTHING BAD.

Those that voted under 4 should kill themselves... and for the record this is First Wave of Black Metal and not pure thrash. First wave of BM is a movement consisting of raw bands that played a combination or raw Black/Death thrashy/speedy and sometimes punky music (see venom, bathory,CF and NME) with satanic lyrical themes that helped in the development of the 2nd wave of black metal, in other words of the music that the newbies define as black metal nowdays.
