Comatose rocked, Awake was okay, and of the songs I've heard from Rise, this isn't gonna be good. I may check it out in the future, but for now I think I'll hold off.

I went to a Lutheran high school for two years. Everybody was obsessed with Skillet there. Since then, I've pretty much shunned this band as a bad attempt at some "edgy" Christian music. I passed on it all then. I will continue to do so. Sounds horrid.

I really wish they'd stop using Jen as a backup vocalist when Korey's vocals were awesome in Comatose. Jen is a capable vocalist, don't get me wrong, but her voice doesn't seem suited to this kind of music.
And John needs to stop fucking screaming. Otherwise, the next album won't have vocals at all. Actually, wait. That might actually sound good.

I so much prefer Jen's voice to Korey's, at least back when I heard Awake and Alive for the first time (was also a Skillet fanboy at the time, tho Awake more or less disillusioned me after a few listens)
Korey does not have a good voice honestly, idk if what brostep says about Jen's being autotuned is true (prob is) but in that album it was such a breath of fresh air compared to how boring and beaten up john's vocals are

I like Korey's voice because it sounds a bit like Sharon den Adel from Within Temptation and a bit like Plumb, both of which are artists I like.
