Yeah, she did backing vocals on Once Sent from the Golden Hall, before leaving to focus on her solo career. Crazy stuff.

Agreed a bit underappreciated here in the comments I would say doesn't get quite enough love compared to some others. Good stuff

Revisit in a less uptight way; T/t opener & "As Loke Falls" are both pure AA old timers pieces.

"Hel", different & perfect

Album full of great riffs melodies.

Massive bump rated bc my previous rate was so fuckup wrong. Happens sometimes if we are honest with ourselves.

The last place that i want to be psycho-rigid is here, not useful at all in music land & neither in the other art forms. Bad first impressions can be really bad backward guides. Enough psycho-analytic stuff. Cheers.

Yeah, I've been jamming this a bunch recently. All Amon Amarth fucking rules, and this isn't even in my top 4 but damn is it fun

People had Amon Amarth fatigue at this point. If you were to put all their releases into a blind study, I think this one is better than Surtur, which I consider their worst since shifting sound, and maybe a few others. It just happened to be the fourth release in a row that was more or less the same. Taken on its own merits though, it rules

Yeah, I was kind of in that camp when this came out, but listening to it now - goddamn.

I REALLY hope their newer album is better than their last few but that single didn't get my hopes up. This band is obnoxiously consistent for the most part, but I just want them to be a bit more inspired these days.

Surtur rising>>>>. This is basically surtur 2.0 just SLIGHTLY weaker and bit generic. Good album none the less this was the last good amon album. The last 3 are pretty bad tbh
