I'm probably gonna drop a more negative review for this at some point.

"This is good. Though it is exactly what you'd think if you put Isis and Deftones together... "

Finally got around to listening all the way through. It was not as good as I hoped it'd be, but pretty solid nonetheless.

That's what I thought after hearing the first track or 2, but I jammed the whole album yesterday and today and it really doesn't work very well.

Considering the potential this is very tepid and safe. There could have been so much more experimentation.

Honestly, you don't do yourself a greater disservice than labeling a band a 'supergroup' or getting all excited because some of your favourite musicians are collaborating. Why is there a greater burden placed on bands like this when they often consist of artists collaborating for the first time? A group has their entire life to write their first song or release their first album, but the second people hear about a supergroup, there's only room for the greatest album ever or a flop.

This isn't Isis + Deftones, it's Palms, and if you like it or hate it, why not judge it on that alone?

No, I didn't rate it til I heard it a few times.

It pretty meh, imo

Especially considering how much chino is supposedly into new wave bands, this could have been such an interesting record.

Patagonia is easily the best track on this. I especially love the bassline in the verses of that song.

I'm still pretty disappointed over the album as a whole. Not saying I dont like it, just thought it

was going to be a lot more epic. My expectations for it shouldnt have been so high. Maybe it will grow

on me more.

Took some time but album finally clicked with me. Mission Sunset and Shortwave Radio are gorgeous.
