Dude, start over. The first time I saw/discovered them they were labelmates/opening for Fear Before and Poison the Well and almost got booed off stage.

They were touring on Waiter: You Vultures.

Some of their way older stuff is less accessible, but you won't regret starting from the beginning. These guys were my favorite band for a time.

Singles for the new albums are very poppy but also very good.

Hope the new album is actually good, considering it's been 4 years since this one

Sadly, I'm expecting more of the same. Remember when they used to do something way different every album? That was the shit. In The Mountain In the Cloud had some good stuff, but really since American Ghetto they have been trending toward the same sound.

Still a good band, but they used to be exceptional and I thought they were poised for success based on their talent and songwriting alone. I don't want to say they sold out or anything because under all those Taco Bell commercials, you can still hear the spirit of good old Portugal. But, I really miss the band they used to be.

Idk y'all this is my favorite album of theirs since Waiter (which was an astounding debut). Satanic Satanist is my third fav. In the Mountain and Censored Colors are really solid too, but I feel like they took advantage of their pop songwriting here and made a much more consistent album than their recent efforts. They're a much different band now than they were, but I think the more simplified approach helped here, considering how damn catchy and fun this turned out to be.

That being said, I'm not expecting lightning to strike twice necessarily, so I'm skeptical that the new album will on par with this. Hoping to be proven wrong though.

I really hope the next one is great. I haven't written them off. This one has some awese songs, but feels bloated and a bit samey. Still can't believe this came out so long ago. Still have my Evil Friends shirt from the pre-order.

This one doesn't feel bloated at all to me - I love pretty much every song on here, which can't be said for most of their albums (though even their weaker albums have some awesome tunes).

We'll see how this new album goes...

Feel It Still grooves so hard. Love it. Haven't given the other singles from the new album much attention but I'll probably just wait for the album at this point.
