Good production can mean lots of things imo. I generally use the term if the overall sound of the albums matches the theme without any obviously grating qualities. The drum sound of this album can be pretty distracting at times but doesn't really mess with my overall enjoyment of it. The guitar work is so slick...

I see what you mean there. You're right, but that makes me think, if you're really good at something people just call you talented whether your skill is "innate" or not. By this logic people who work really hard and get good at a skill they used to suck at aren't talented.
Again, you're right that's the wrong word but you've sent me on a good thought and now I don't like that word anymore lol
