what's up with the shitty sawtooth synths on the past two albums? sounds like something out of a bad early 2000s eurodance song and doesn't fit the rest of the music at all

it's especially obnoxious on The World of Rage

Waiting In the Wings and Shallow Waters slay. album's solid, even though the last two tracks pale in comparison to Black Marten's Trace and The Trapper.

Paystreak is also one of the best songs.

Has anyone seen Kalmah live lately? Apparently Antti Kikko isn't in the live lineup right now and I'm wondering how they sound now. I may have a chance to see them.

saw them on the boat and they slayed both sets. idk what's up with Antti -- health, visa issues? -- but the new guy has been playing with them for a few years and while it's disappointing not to have Antti, there's no dropoff in quality. the dude shreds and I expect it'll be an awesome show.

That's great to hear. Thanks!
You were at 70000 Tons of Metal? I'm sure that was amazing.
Kalmah is finally coming to the US and they are touring with Vreid. Should be a cool show, I really dig this breed of melodeath.
I need to try Be'lakor again.

nah man this is their most exciting since The Black Waltz. I love the pacing and symphonic leads. hooks on Deadfall, Pikemaster, Hollo, The Trapper, and especially Black Marten are super memorable for me.

Title track is easily one of the best songs this band has ever done.
