No prob Feather
I haven't seen their Clandestine film either but I sure as hell liked the explanation in the thread as to why Leaving Song Pt. 2 is before Pt. 1 in the track order.

Hahaha, nice, I'll look it up Feather. It's the least I can do after throwing you into the endless abyss of AFI theories.

its okay. I made myself feel better by tossing my gf into the AFI abyss and shes never really listened to them so that'll take much longer to get out of

@Feather: Just watched the Clandestine vid and it’s pretty trippy. Didn’t understand all of it but it was cool to watch. A couple of observations:
1. I picked up on the rabbit and the “chrysanthemum of white” on the card table. Perhaps it’s a reference to The Great Disappointment?
2. When I was trying to think what could be in the black box I eventually thought maybe there’s just a copy of STS in there and I lol’ed

straight up you're a coward if you don't think this is their best album

@Advent Well the opening lines of 'bleed black' the supposed "real beginning of the album" kicks off with "I am exploring the inside, I find it desolate" so the box is probably just empty lol. And also the entire album is just packed with song and album references so the rabbit and chrysanthemum is definitely in reference to the songs.
Glad you liked the video tho!

@Feather Lol makes sense. Always fun to think about this stuff, especially with AFI
Like I mentioned in my personal Top 10 it's really really hard to pick this or DU as their best album tbh

^ dawg you gotta go backwards after this for their next best. DU was a pretty huge letdown for me and this is speaking as someone who got into this band in high school around 2001/2002.

@Advent DU is phenomenal, but I definitely like STS more.
@ghost I love Art of Drowning, black sails and ESPECIALLY All Hollow's (probably my favorite AFI, but unfortunately only an ep), but the hate for DU is mostly people being salty that it became emo mainstream popular.

i love DU but prelude and Miss Murder are kind of terrible

With all the success Miss Murder brought, we may have that song to thank that their career is still continuing to this day. And honestly the song isn't THAT bad, especially the bridge which is actually awesome and extremely fun to play (probably weakest on the album though)
I think prelude is kinda cool as an opener and sets a tone for whats to come, I wish they hadn't stopped doing that (Miseria, Initiation, Through Our Bleeding).

Apparently Davey wanted View From Here in place of Miss Murder. Kind of want to replace that track with Miss Murder to see how the album flows.

yeah bridge for Miss Murder is the only part that I like. The beat in Prelude is so cringe though, maybe that's just me.
