@JamieTwort:

I thought you'd pop up in this thread - cheers again for those Causa Sui and Groundhogs recs, right on the money!

There's been some great heavy psych stuff I've found in recent times on this site, Golden Void s/t (via one of Raul's reviews), Sungrazer - Mirador, and Flying Eyes - Done So Wrong all released in the last couple of years.

Sweet, don't think I've heard any of those 3, I'll check 'em out.

^'Anywhere' is pretty good. It's mostly covers but it jams hard.

@br1nk

I'd personally go with Kirikyogen and Made in Japan after this one. Anywhere is just 'okay' in my opinion, like Jamie says, it's mainly covers. Still quality stuff though.

i'm finding it hard to find flac rips of this...

excellent job bro, it's so good to have this kind of recs amongst desserts of modern acts striving for reinvention or something. I kinda find some solace in all these older groups

Satori, reflects a transitional, yet momentous, period in the history of rock music.

I'd take out the comma after 'momentous'-- not really necessary.

it's influence still held

its*

The fuzztoned, guitar sound

No comma needed here, since 'guitar sound' is what 'fuzztoned' describes.

Though at the same time, as proto-metal and hard rock were establishing their dominance in the mainstream,

Try to avoid beginning sentences with words like 'though.' You could switch this to 'at the same time, though,'* And is proto-metal a thing? I'm not familiar with it, so you might want to find a way to cater it to people unaware of it.

The adoption of elongated song structures and fantastical atmospheres became even more evident in the rock scene of time, and actually lent considerable leverage to the rise of progressive rock.

Lovely sentence-- descriptive without being over-the-top. This is the type of writing I knew you'd get to, and it makes it happy that it finally come to fruition.

Here we'll find traces of early heavy metal and progressive rock

I'd scrap the usage of 'we,' since it hasn't been done elsewhere in the review thus far.

Kirikyogen also played a significant part in its creation as well.

You can scrap 'as well,' since you already said 'also.'

epic divided into 5 movements

I believe theres a grammatical rule where numbers are spelt out until 10 is reached. So in that case, you'd put 'five' here.

This album is like a window into a warped and capricious state of mind, as the music flows along under its own agenda, while altering in both mood and style whenever it deems appropriate.

Dude, killer line. You have a knack for ending paragraphs in exciting ways.

And as we're drawn to the edge of our seat, completely succumbed with anticipation

This is too overdramatic for me, considering some listeners won't feel this way, etc.

This particular movement emphasizes more on a formidable volume and low-tuned guitar work rather than clever artistry.

This sentence is curiously worded-- the movement emphasizes more on a formidable volume? Try 'focuses more on loud volumes and low-tunes..... above clever artistry.'

It's actually quite astonishing how Flower Travellin' Band is able to formulate mellow, psychedelic jams that incite the same magnetizing awe that their heavier style emanates.

Love the passion here. I would just change the phrase 'incite the same magnetizing awe' into something more digestible, as it's kind of a chore to read.

It's a kind of versatility that many bands aspired to harness at the time

"At the time" should be placed a bit better here, like maybe at the sentence's beginning. That would make the read smoother.

which borrows influence from blues rock and heavy metal respectively

'Respectively' serves no purpose here-- I'd scrap it.

The third movement especially,

Another curiously placed coma. I'd say to scrap 'especially,' as it isn't necessary.

with a relaxed tempo that continues to be influenced by the psychedelic vibes of "Satori, Pt. II".

"that continues to be influenced" can just be "that takes influence from"

into a 'Zeppelin-like' groove.

Awesome description, you do a great job with comparisons. That's what makes it obvious you're reviewing the right music, because you have the context down. I'd just take Zeppelin-like out of the quotes or whatever they're called.

The mind-bending jams, the hypnotically vibrant riffs,

This needs more in order to begin a sentence grammatically. Maybe say 'through the mind-bending jams and the hypnotic riffs....'

Though this hallucinatory theme is only for the sake atmosphere

Avoid beginning sentences with 'though,' and put the word after 'atmosphere.'

And brilliant ending to your review. You write descriptively, but you're starting to develop quite the writer's flair and I love it! I know you've wanted feedback for awhile, so I think these three comments should keep you satisfied for awhile. =] Great work as always, Hernan.

Thanks, Jacob. I'll take your advice and edit some stuff out tonight. And yeah, I have 'comma' problem keep adding them where, they don't belong. I write the majority of my reviews during late nights so that's a problem too, but mostly it's because I'm dumb and weird.

Anyway, thanks for the help. I appreciate it.

Eastern-influenced cacophonous acid rock at it's finest.
