I agree with both sides of people on this album to some extent. This is in my eyes Dillinger going through the motions, with a bunch of songs suffering from stagination of the techincal/spazzy side and poorly excuted ideas and melodies (CH 375 268 277 ARS is by far the worst track and example of instrumental stagination and Paranoia Shields is the worst example of poorly excuted ideas and melodies) but there's alot to praise on this album. Greg is mindblowing on this, giving the best performance he's ever given done, giving this album a vicious style and tone (the first 2 track tracks being the best example). Their new fully developed idea of more slow, cuthroat and burning tracks like Crossburner and Prancer are fantestic, giving aggression that is only really rivalled by some tracks on Calculating Infinity and their general theme on slowing down the technical work and focusing more on melody is working on a bunch of tracks like the title track and Magic without abandoning it completely (i.e. When I Lost Your Bet, which is my personal fav on this).

When I Lost My Bet, which is my personal fav on this [2]

This was my first Dillinger full album listen, so it left a very good impression.

Calculating Infinity is amazing, but I still think the Puciato sound was the best decision they ever made

These are one of the greatest live bands I've ever seen but there's something about the albums that gets me back up.

Converge is sweet live but if you're not used to hardcore shows it's over all too soon :-I
