"Wow, I'm really digging these first two tracks."
Dunno if you mean the singles posted on previous page, or the album in order, but if it's the latter, then imo the album is back-loaded, so I'll await your 5.

The singles off this have been/are being seriously overplayed here, but they're definitely not bad. A lot better than a lot of the other stuff that booms from the radio these days. Good review as always, Davey-man.

Thanks Magnus. And yeah, they're overplayed down under as well.
I'm still curious as to whether they have received airplay in the U.S....

Davey, do you know Cross The Line by Camo & Krooked? As far as I can tell, it's kind of like this but way better.

I hadn't before now. Checked it out & the major difference is the vocals. The vocals from Rudimental's guests (pretty much every singer) have that soul element which I think lends this type of dance music an edge in being more distinct. Whereas the vocals in that C&K song felt like every other female vocalist in a dance song from the past 20 years.

Which one did you check? Half the stuff on the album is decent and half the stuff is honestly incredible "mainstream" DnB. Listen to these two: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kLaC0PNMldo and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7tleBvIRoN4
Granted, Rudimental is indeed more "soul" but in terms of straight DnB C&K is probably my favorite not-super-experimental group. Ayah Marar's voice won't win any awards for individuality but I like Cross The Line a lot more than this.

Oh, I thought you meant the song 'Cross The Line'... Which had that Ayah Marar as the vocalist as well. Her voice just sounded way too dime-a-dozen for me, but I'll check out those other 2 tracks.

Cross The Line is one of the worst on the album IMO. I give the whole thing a high 4 and it's one of my favorite DnB releases.

No probs Omaha. That's why I posted them 1st I guess.
LOL kitsch. Thinking about reviewing all your 5s... But don't wanna make my ears bleed. ;-)

I listened to some of the youtube links and some of them are pretty fun listens but then others are terrible.

It's definitely a mixed bag, that's for sure. I don't mind that with this kind of music though - coz usually every song sounds the same to me.
|
| |
Well now that Flume AND Pendulum have been mentioned I gotta check this out.

It just seemed so randomly mixed though. I listened to Spoons and Baby and was like alright this is cool maybe I'll check it out then I heard Feel The Love and was completely turned off.

This sounds really interesting, gonna check it out. The artwork is fantastic.
