Damn. Interesting to see the varied opinions on the vocals. And thanks Mike; I was drawn to those exact sentences after writing it haha

Those sentences have some grammatical issues, but I can't agree with his assessment of their content. The music degree
may mean nothing to him, but my education informed the album in a major way, influencing everything from the vocal
approach to the influences I incorporated to the overall structure of the record. It is very relevant information. As for the
originality issue, maybe he should listen and decide for himself?

I'm gonna try this for the third time...
How'd you get two periphery guys to help you on this?
|
| |
Travis is actually local (lives under an hour away from me - we're both in the middle of nowhere), and the recording engineer I worked with (who is Jeff Juliano's assistant) brought it to my attention that I could get him to play on my album. I jumped on the opportunity, of course, as he's the perfect player for this record. It turns out that he's a really cool guy and a good friend, too! He then connected me with Tom (who had just quit Periphery, so this is the first session work he's ever done) and Taylor.

later in Ranting Prophet and some other parts the vocals sound cool, like Tool or A Perfect Circle. otherwise its painful to listen.

I'm seriously about to buy the CD purely because of how disgustingly unique this is.

This stuff is absolutely brilliant! On my second listen already. I understand why people wouldn't like the vocals, but I love them, they kind of have a Mike Patton vibe to them. May bump to a 5 or decrease to a 4 later.
