American Idiot receives a lot of hate for being vastly different from Green Day's older material, but I still think its a great album. Now everything that came out after it has walked the line between disappointing, horrible, and fairly mediocre.

there are more great songs on here than bad, but the bad ones are pretty cringeworthy

I had an emo phase last summer, I also had a hardcore punk phase. They both lasted about a month and a half. Haven't really looked back since.

I liked a lot of da "classix" and shit, but I got kinda tired of listening to them if I kept on keepin' on (same goes with hardcore). So I started listening to moar new emo bands (a little bit of screamo sure, but mostly twinkly emo shit).

Now it just kidna bores me, if I listen to like 3 songs or more at one sitting.

Can we make twinkly emo shit a subgenre?

Also, I hate it when pop-punk bands from the early to mid 2000s is classified as Emo.

Apologies make way for grandad but I've never fully understood what exactly constitutes emo?

Richy Edwards was wearing eye liner carving for real into his arm and was wept over by teenage girls in the early nineties, he was just a conceited prick no other label necessary.

Ok so the writer of this always comments about how he's 13, and not in high school yet, so SOMETHING here is BS.

Am I the only one here who disliked Green Day as a pre-teenager back in 2004?
