this is such vocal centred music though. I mean, yeah it's still in the electronic spectrum, but I honestly think that's the wrong place to analyze it from. This album is all about the top-notch vocals and how they go with his really, really cleverly produced songs. (*IN MY OPINION*)

this album really comes to life with some good headphones by the way. I thought it was kinda "good not great" before I gave it the hi-fi treatment last night.

I have always had an issue with the way he structures his vocal melodies, which I think is why this album isn't higher-rated for me. it seems Blake's vocals rarely really latch onto the music, if that makes sense... Like, both elements are very enjoyable alone, but only in tracks like "Digital Lion" do I really feel a sense of vocal/instrumental congruity.
