I feel like TSSF are bit better than their contemporaries (Man Overboard, Neck Deep), but none of those bands come close to the Wonder Years.

Tend to agree. Sometimes I feel like slapping the Wonder Years singer for being a bitch. I prefer anger over melancholy in my punk music.
