this is a 5
Anberlin is a mediocre band generally but Cities is such a bloated piece of contrived, boring shit

Like I said, I definitely understand why people enjoy this, but it does nothing for me. Anything I look for in music is not present here, except for some abstract "emotion" that I can't really put my finger in (credit the atmosphere I guess).

I'm amused that you say this is a 5 and Cities is bloated, but your opinion is worthless to me since we don't listen to music for the same ends, clearly.

you do realize that you're seriously giving this a lower rating than what you gave All the Right

yeah I agree the world is definitely black and white and I look for the same things in music every time I put any song on and there's no way you can sympathize with that sensation because the way you listen to music is entirely different and the two are completely mutually exclusive

@Havey,

That's probably a bad example since I rated it at a time that I legitimately enjoyed a few tracks, which is more than I can say for here. Of course if I relistened it'd most likely be a 1.

But still, there's tons of pop, pop rock, mainstream rock, etc. that I have rated higher than this. Ratings are completely arbitrary constructs---I can acknowledge that this is likely closer to a work of "art" than anything else I listen to beyond some of the classical masterpieces, but that's not enough for me to actually enjoy it. It's sort of like Picasso's works for me personally.

@Sea, are you implying that you solely listen to music for enjoyment? Because that's me---stuff like this I don't give extra marks to for being so incredibly unique. If so, then let's agree we derive enjoyment from different things in general, okay? No need to get so sarcastic.
