the thing i love about this album is that yes, it is totally club/party-ready, but it's just as enjoyable outside of that setting, and it doesn't at all sound like 90% of the god-awful music you'd be likely to hear at a club

Good album. I don't think it's in any way a huge step for anything though. This what pop should sound like. But I guess when put up among the re-digested shit that makes up today's radio stream, this comes off as pretty damn "fly".
