It's hard to pick a favourite on here. The album shifts from hightlight to highlight to highlight. This has seriously grown on me, since I first heard it. I probably should get the vinyl soon.

Really enjoying this album, and your review is what introduced me to it. Very impressed.

"i think you're overrating it a bit, but it's very solid"

Good point - this is obviously exactly a 3.7

treeqt.

can we please stop putting album of the year contender in every review when it's just february please? other than that I hate screamo but let's try that song you linked, i'm interested.

It sounds nothing like your average screamo stuff, though. There's an influence sure, but nothing too obvious. I mean, I kinda hate screamo as well, and I'm loving this.

screamo is hearing a bunch of obnoxious kids screaming at a mike with no feel or passion layered on top of shitty melody

to make'em feel above what they consider as lesser bands imo. it doesn't seem to be the case on this album so I'll try the

stream, cheers

Some people write too many highly positive reviews. Compromises the power and reliability of their
reviews when they find something truly special. Especially when every other album with 15 votes is
getting "aoty contender" sprayed onto it

But that first song you posted does sound really good

Finished the stream and It was awesome, could see this being a solid 4, nothing to do with screamo at all imo, just some envy influence. nice dig anarchist

But then I'd have to stop listening to the James Blake track on repeat

Don't get that guy. At times I hate his music, other times I love it

Will definitely get on this tonight though

Egh, new James Blake will probably be ok, but I can't say I'm really stoked about it.

I totally get that, and it's one of my biggest weaknesses as a reviewer: I'm way more comfortable with writing highly positive reviews than I am with doing negative reviews. I'm working on it, but trust that I'm not pretending to like these albums.

Loved this album, will give it more listens as the year goes by, could end up being top 20 material.
