Excuse Me is the track I just cant seem to like AT ALL. The more I listen to this album, the more I think it is one of my favorite because it is a lot closer to the Genesis sound/quirky-ness than the rest



Maybe gonna bump this one up once I'm done with the discog. Weirdly enough Melt is good, but just don't do as much as this for me

melt is my favorite but it didnt hit me right away. i really love all of his first four now tho such an incredible run. think scratch is very overlooked

Scratch is consistent i can give that, but it is consistently too safe and I just feel PG voice is used not in a good way on scratch.



Yeah, at this point my favorite would be between So, Car or Security.

damn so is faaaaaar and away my least favorite/his most safe feeling to me lol. the songs on scratch are def rooted in the pop rock of the time but they also have a lot of weirdness within them that make them sound like songs only he coulda written to me. so is just him leaning too far into the pop songwriter playbook and sanding down the majority of what i like about him lol. easily my least fav pg lp

See this is what I like about music in general. It is so subjective, but at the very least you dont trash the album like some idiots do when they dont like an album. You can recognize its merit ..



So get me feels and what I feel 80s pop should have been.

Car is just the perfect mix of Genesis with some pop antics

Security is so just weird, but I like it that way.

yeah absolutely. i dont really care when people are dunking aimlessly but its j not an interesting conversation for me lol. plus i feel like if someones an artist you really love, even if youre not engaged by a record ya might as well still find out what other people dig about it. stepping out of ones own perspective type beat. have come around on plenty of stuff i didnt rlly get at first as a result (including so actually lol went from like a 2 to a 3.5 for me overtime)

Pretty disappointed on first listen, maybe I'm in the wrong mood. The songs feel a bit disjointed and I don't love everything he does with his voice, then there's a pretty omnipresent layer of cheese, which I expect a bit of cheese with most music from this era, but it's bothering me here. Idk. Probably should give it some time and spin it again in a few days.
