the people are lovely, i couldnt care less what atrocities their government's committed in the past. i mean you could say something disparaging about literally every nation on earth. I had some of the best times in my life in Uganda with some of the friendliest people I've ever met, but they just passed a law where killing someone that you can prove to be a homosexual is not treated as murder. weeping - that is soooo awesome. I spent a long time talking to this local who spoke Luganda, Swahili, English (obviously), and some more Eastern African languages. it was so god damn interesting. He was telling me how if you were from the east of the nile, you probable spoke _____ and if you were from west of the nile you spoke _____ (I can't remember the details). I love all the different tribal variations they have in their languages, and how you could figure out which tiny, specific piece of Uganda they came from based on the way they structure their sentences.

But if you'd need a proper translation or explanation you could probably hit me up, haha.

yeah honestly i like to think i'm learning some Luganda via osmosis from looking at and listening to sound files all day from a native speaker, but probably not. it's a cool language though
