His cleans are great as usual but his screams sound a little strained here though I don't blaim him after what he did on Short Songs.

"the clean vocals drove me insane maybe it was the realization that he's 30 and sounds like he's 14
but yea he sounds like he just finished puberty or something, ugh

Agreed.

So apparently Silverstein and ABR did a split of covers from The Get Up Kids and Saves the Day. It's pretty legit.

I agree, the same can be said for Anthony Green and plenty of other vocalist, while Shane isn't that bad at all. It's nice sounding to me.

It doesn't matter to me if people like his voice or not, but complaining about the pitch being high and liking others that are as high, if not higher is a tad hypocritical right? I admire his vocals, but that's just me.

It's not just that his voice is high. It's the way he sounds; the tone of his singing voice. Stephen Christian from Anberlin has a pretty high voice, but he has great tone. So does Dallas Green and the dude from Deaf Havana, the guy from We Are The Ocean, Anthony Raneri (Bayside), Casey Cresenzo, etc.
I put Shane Told in with vocalists of the likes of Sleeping With Sirens, Scary Kids Scaring Kids, Dead Poetic, Spoken, Funeral For A Friend, Senses Fail, lostprophets, blah blah blah. They have higher pitched singers that imo don't have the best tone for the range they like to hang out in. It's a matter of taste. It's not just because he sings high.

I am not saying any of those bands in the second section are bad. The vocals just leave something to be desired for me, like with this band. They all play a style of music that I enjoy, but the weaker area is the vocals. You guys might disagree, and that's cool. I don't have a problem with that.
To me, it sounded like you guys were basically saying that if I don't like Shane Told's voice because it is higher pitched, then I shouldn't like anyone with a higher pitched voice. I am just trying to explain my reasoning here and possibly the reasoning of the others that mentioned their distaste for the vocals.

except he sounds like he's fucking 14, how is it a stupid statement at all?
literally i went through puberty when i was 13, so when i was 14 i had a voice that sounded masculine, but still was pretty high-pitched compared to what it is now. it had the same nasally/whiny timbre that Shane Told or w/e has on this album. Plain and simple, he sounds like he's 14.
