I LOVE this album. It's the only Coldplay I have other than their singles off X&Y and Parachutes, but that is soon to change. Amsterdam is the best song here, with perfectly building and exploding emotion. Sometimes the Scientist makes me cry... *did I just say that???* lol, this is a must-have for anyone who just likes good music and is not too particular about whether it's heavy or not.

Generic and mediocre.
I love In My Place, though. Oh, and Clocks. The rest I don't care for. This Message Edited On 12.29.05

This album wasn't really anything new or different from Parachutes. Still, not a bad effort. In my place was a great choice for a single, but clocks was so timid and generally boring. Same as Parachutes, I can't handle this in heavy doses.

the bass also playes piano. i love the scientist, even though its kind of as strange song. clocks is also really strange and kind of annoying but the piano part is recognizable from a mile away. this band is really good. i want to look into them more.

Everything on here is great. Green Eyes is the only thing that pulls it down.
And it ia much different from Parachutes. Much more like Radiohead. This Message Edited On 06.17.06

In an age of hip-hop, rap and teen pop, I'm glad that a band like Coldplay is at least popular too. Yeah they're not the most original, but they make GOOD music. A little radiohead, oasis, U2, and Jeff Buckley can be heard through most their music, but they do a good job.
Almost every song is exceptional. This album is perfect for relaxing and just feelin' good.

So I have figured out what is wrong with this album. And that's that all the good tracks are up front and then it goes into zzz territory.
Politik until Clocks, I like (although Clocks is overplayed for me.) After that, it just fizzles out like a candle in the night.

"Clocks" is amazing. I don't see why it shouldn't have the Record of the Year Grammy, considering all the stinker nominations that followed.
Classic album, this is. Great review too.

This would be a 5 if it weren't for the MASSIVE DIP in quality around the middle. But this has some really spectacular songs on it. Parachutes is generally a better album imo. This site has more Coldplay fans than I originally thought.
