oh and "BTW" i want them to come up with a song that doesn't sound like its from a video game.
It's not gonna happen. This is power metal, not serious metal. If you don't like their lyrics or style, DON'T LISTEN TO THEM.

I heard the first song on this album and was actually quiet impressed as the vocals did not annoy the crap out of me like most power metal does.

to tell the truth, i heard the name of this band, and i just smirked.
i thought "pshh, another dragon band. as if we dont have enough"
and then i fianlly convinced myself to listen to them.
and i was, and remain impressed with their music, despite the fact that i cant seem to help myself singing the lyrics to the wrong songs along with songs, because they all seem oddly similar to me.

I do like 'DragonForce' but in the recent issue of 'Total Guitar' they said that 'Trivium' play like fifteen year-olds. Opinion it may be, but I still think that is out of order. Plus Matt Heafy is twenty...he must have been a damn good guitarist at fifteen.

Good review, i just feel that after two albums, this album is kind of repetitive and to some extent the speed does not matter anymore. Halfway listening to the album I was just dying for some more melody and catchyness.

im sorry. but Dragonforce is just too corny for me.
|

Ditto. I actually like some power metal, but there are limits as to how corny I can go, and Dragonforce are past that for me. Also, their songs all sound very alike to me, although that's a criticism that I'd make of much of the genre. Good review though, as usual. I didn't know you liked them this much.

Bullsh*t, there are lots of more serious power metal bands. What to think of Kamelot? Children of Bodom? Hammerfall? New Avenged Sevenfold?

Seems kind of out of place, doesn't it? They'd belong alot better on Gigantour.

Without a doubt. Ozzfest is like alternative fest and since DragonForce actually uses their guitarists for more than drop D chords they will be quite out of place. I guess the closest band to them (playing wise) on the Main Stage is Sevenfold, it will be interesting to see how they both get recognized and appreciated.
I know Avenged puts on a great show and I'm assuming DragonForce will do just the same, but with the accessible "music" hungry 14 year olds these bands can be hit or miss. It would really be a shame for DF if their whole summer was spent performing for the wrong target market, but could definitely work out for the better if they are well received. Still think they are a better fit for Gigantour.

Yeah, might want to change that. If you're a fan of power metal than this album will really blow you away.

I only have Sonic Firestorm by Dragonforce, and I have yet to get this. Which album do you think is better?

What are you talking about? How did we get from Dragonforce to Ozzfest and Avenged Sevenfold? This Message Edited On 06.01.06

Brain Dead, I personally think that Sonic Firestorm is a better album, but that doesn't mean that you shouldn't check this one out. I really enjoyed this release because of the sheer speed and virtuosity.
You might like this album more if you're into shredding, because this is some of the craziest shredding I've come across in a good while.
Sonic Firestorm > Inhuman Rampage > Valley of the Damned

All right, thanks Thor. I really liked Sonic Firestorm, so I'll check this one out.

Is Gigantour happening again this year? I need to get tickets to it...
Dragonforce SHOULD play Gigantour. Then I'll want to go see them, because it will be cheaper and have a ton more bands that I like.

i checked out the Gigantour site and it just shows last years bands and tours yadda yadda
