that's the thing i can't compare em with arbitrary numbers i mean i've slowed down rating things to like once every two weeks but i usually just don't think about it

Album Rating: 3.5
yeah i gotcha, they're def. arbitrary. i don't even know what metric i go by, sometimes it's sheer
enjoyment level and sometimes i bump up shit for being artsy (e.g. this)
|
| |
yeah i getcha dude
idk since joining this site my brain kinda got rewired over time into rating things whether i want it to or not and i'm trying to rid myself of that mental process
|

Album Rating: 3.5
idioteque kind of sucks (bad call six)
yeah i gotcha but at what point do you rate stuff then? i don't really understand what you mean by wanting to or not wanting to rate stuff. it's just something i do, even if on some level i know it's meaningless
|
| |
damn dude idioteque is my fave on this
what i mean is i sometimes rate stuff if i've been listening to it and happen to be on the review page reading about it but other than that i don't bother
|
| |
Album Rating: 3.5
damn really? will give a second chance but it seemed to go absolutely nowhere
and alright yeah i getcha. but why even rate at all, even if you happen to be on the thread? just seems pointless considering ratings for you are meaningless ?
|
| |
force of habit
trying to shake it but it's pretty compulsive haha
|
| |
i didn't read the last few pages but are you just hearing this for the first time or
|
| |
Album Rating: 3.5
haha alright, gotcha.
and no i'm not, i listened quite a while back (i'm guessing late 2011) but i forgot it. i don't trust my rating either because i tended to overrate stuff sputnik liked just because sputnik liked it lol
this is probably something like a 3.6 for me
|
| |
yeah i dunno how much other radiohead you're into but this doesn't click with me the way it seems to with so many
i like amnesiac way more
very similar but very different
|
| |
Album Rating: 3.5
yea i posted earlier that radiohead is just too like artsy for my tastes. i like straightforward stuff. i've only heard okc and this though

man thom's vox do nothing for me in idioteque ugh
they actually really piss me off because they're so unmelodic at times
@uranium are you indian or is that an ironic avatar
and when i phrase it that way, a third option pops up: are you just a really clever son of a bitch?
|
| |
wait really? i thought that was the bullshit electronica one
nah dude the closest to electronic is king of limbs or this or amnesiac
in rainbows is super warm and organic and guitary and pianoey and nice
prob their most accessible (that or bends)
but then again maybe radiohead just ain't your thing

Album Rating: 4.5
My grandfather was a Cherokee but that's not the right type of Indian

Album Rating: 3.5
"in rainbows is super warm and organic and guitary and pianoey and nice"
holy shit that sounds like 4.5 quality honestly
@uranium, oh, i can't see your avatar but it looks like some hindu gods. it'd just be clever as fuck because "avatar" originates from hinduism, where the protector god vishnu will be reborn 10x (the ninth was buddha and iirc the 10th will come at the end of time or some cycle or sth). so yeah i was thinking it might've been a pun on that but i guess not lol
