At the moment I still prefer 'Not Available' but that could change

NA was the follow up to this (though it was shelved for a couple of years), which is still a very good album

shame these guys fell off when they began to rely on that midi shit in the 90s (although they kinda had a patchy discog in the 80s)

might be time to revisit this band, the weirdness factor might not be so high for me now

I've only listened to the early albums so don't feel qualified to say. Will check it out of curiosity though

their stuff since God In Three Persons has been incredibly hit or miss

imo the last really good thing they put out was the Live at the Fillmore album back in '98. Incredible show, plus it's heavy on the 90s stuff which really surprises me with its quality.

what I've heard off Mush-Room's pretty good

Mush-Room was good from what I remember, but they've really kind of lost the magic that made the classics so good

Plus they put out waaaay too much garbage over the past two decades that have made it a chore to figure out what to avoid and what to check. Plus with the naming random dudes, it kills the whole anonymity of The Residents.

Yeah, that's the feeling I was getting looking at the huge number of releases and the average scores they're getting here and on RYM.

I can also imagine that when this band aren't on it then their stuff would be unlistenable
