Love everything about this. It's a weird description but this is like if The Wrens and Deftones formed a supergroup together. It's awesome m/

Fans of Oceansize should check out
cyril snear - riots if colour. They were heavily influenced by them and I think worked with a one or 2 of the oceansize guys. You can hear it for sure.

This is nothing like Deftones to me, but i'm really glad you like this so much

To me the influences on here are so many, that you could barely sum them up to two artists

For the most important ones, it would be something like: Radiohead+Mogwai+Tool+Explosions in the Sky+Faith No More+Cardiacs+The Verve

Agreed! Fantastic band, they really continue the Oceansize spirit, though they broke up only a few years after them...

I guess the shoegazy sounds remind me of them but, this is amazingly unique. Haven't heard Frames yet but if it's better than this (a borderline 5 on first listen) then my mind will be blown.

Frames and this are both perfect 5s to me, though Frames is completely Oceansize in that it sounds like them and no one else.

Will check Cyril Snear, cheers!

I hear a fair amount of Hum in Oceansize, not sure if that was direct influence or not though. Frames is definitely more unique, but the psyched out parts of this are q special for how they took the very stale mold of Mogwai/EitS post-rock and turned it into something beautiful and organic

@Lucman you'll be in for a treat. I'd still consider Frames to be somewhat of a hidden gem in music, even on Sputnik

Though it is less immediate than the first two records and there are no radiofriendly elements on it whatsoever.
