Just listened to this for the first time at my pal's house. From what i heard it's very good. I love the celtic sound and the use of organs, flutes, violin (or fiddle me and my friends couldn't decide which), etc.

My favorite track had to be the one that ends with Devin just going crazy and akerfelt (i think) doing UHs in between devin's shreiking. If anyone could tell me what thta song is id be appreciative. This Message Edited On 04.05.08

kinda late but that song is Loser, which is probably the best song as a whole here. I haven't listened to this in forever

The singer-per-part idea works perfectly and a compilation of the best moments of this album would be a surefire 5, but Lucassen needs to start writing albums with shorter stories. Near the end of this one it seems like it just keeps going on to finish things up with the plot, while the music sort of stagnates. Still a great album though. This Message Edited On 02.12.09

I found this kind of annoying, I find it could have been done better; which is what frustrated me.

I think the cheesiness annoys me.

^^ I third that.

Despite it's cheesyness however, it's still a great album, but I find it difficult to listen to from beginning to end.

One of those albums, that isn't just musically and lyrically impressive, but helps you get through tough times and moments of darkness. One of the best metal albums ever made.

Pain came up on shuffle and made me give this a full listen again. That's probably my favorite track...reminds me of an edgier version of Devy's "Life," which makes sense considering he's one of its main vocalists.

Hugely overblown and pretentious but great all the same. Haven't listened to this for maybe four years.
