^^

I really have to disagree. haha I know there is a few songs where it loses a little something the original had, but I think in most cases the new mix is miles clearer.

I can also say I know this, personally, because I'm a bass player and hearing the bass in a lot of the songs on the original production was bloody hard.

Still, to each their own. haha

Trebor.

Definitely worth a spin Trebor. This album makes me want to do dirty things to it, it's so good.

+1.

Very necessary & almost objectively correct review. It amazes me there are still people out there who still defend the "production" of the original.

I remember with every listen of the original release spending a 1/3 of my time equalizing the shit out of each song.

Cheers bud. Yeah, the original production was terrible. This is so god damn good though!

Wasn;t this album the first album Dir En Grey decided to produce and mix themselves?

Pretty sure that was MARROW (since they were recording along tour & basically only spent about a month finalizing production

before the release date) but I'd have to check the credits on their recent albums to confirm.

Didn't they get a new engineer for DSS? And I'm sure I read they got the same guy to go over this R&E album, too. Could be wrong, mind you.

Yea, it's the same guy who did DSS. Hopefully they stick with him for all future albums.

Only thing that held back the original from being a 5 was the production, so this is definitely a 5!

The english version of Glass Skin did the album no favours either.

Stuck Man is so sick, I break my neck during the bridge. Such a sick riff.

I thought a remaster seemed weird at first but when I got this I found myself loving this album even more, which I didn't think was possible.

Yeah, unfortunately, their creative peak. Every single song is a banger!

I've actually not had an issue with any song from their past three albums, but this one is definitely the best. Interesting in that there wasn't much collaboration, the members mostly wrote songs on their own and brought them together later, and we somehow got their best album out of it.
