I saw Deftones headline at the Ryman in Nashville around the Gore cycle. Not a big venue but you gotta have some street cred to get up in that muhfucka.

This album has to have one of the best production jobs of all time. Everything is so crisp yet lush, and the songs all flow into each other like a fever dream

that’s why I’m excited they got Nick back on production for the new one

It could either be incredible or a brickwalled disaster. His production style really works for those Deftones records but god damn he is easily the worst part of new Alice In Chains. Black Gives Way to Blue is probably my favorite record ever that just has straight up bad production.

agreed, this also has moments of brickwallitis but for the most part it’s bang on
the AiC records definitely feel like shards of broken glass puncturing my eardrums at points

What Happened To You? is probably the best song they've ever done.

True but thankfully the album has been remastered. I uploaded the remastered version somewhere awhile ago but I think its been updated as the only official release on the iTunes library
