i'm cool with Commercial Rap Music i guess it almost seems like kendrick lamar is in some awkward between-space of commercial and underground and usually i dont care about that shit at all but the music seems sorta...off to me. like not quite there hook-wise but still borrowing from some of the more annoying trends of mainstream rap

It's not the only 5 album in hip hop, I just don't care enough about my profile to rate every album I enjoy. Saying this isnt hip-hop because its different then 90s hip-hop is like saying Modern metal isn't metal because it doesn't sound like Metallica. If Kendrick is so gay and mainstream and commercialized then shouldn't Of Lady Gaga stayed on the album and not booted off? And of those 29 writers , one is kendrick , 2 is from black hippy, like 14 or 15 are producers, and like 8 or 9 are on the bonus tracks. Leaving like 3 ish left. Who knows what they "wrote". I'm pretty sure Janet Jackson didnt so shit all, maybe said a line or something Kendrick liked and he credited her with it or something. I'm sure every rapper has done that at some point in his career, just not all admit it.
