@Chortles
Yeah I like his voice too.

Yup Josh's voice is just incredible! Shadows and Empyrean are my top two, closely followed by Curtains and Automatic Writing. Their cover of Tim Buckley's 'Song to the Siren' is unbelievable (Josh did all the instrumentation).

@Chortles - yeah dude I asked the mods to merge the duplicate album pages.

man i actually never really liked the empyrean as much as john's other stuff. thought it was a little bit dull honestly. maybe it's time for to listen again though, it's been a long time

I did the thing John recommended, listening to it really fucking loud in the dark, it blew my mind. Not something I just put on all the time though. Still a 5 for me. 'Central' is ridiculous.

Yeah listening to most records in the dark usually gives you a greater appreciation of what's going on musically.

2 or 3 hours on and off, I listened to it and wrote notes down when I felt like it then I went out for lunch then i came back and organised it into a review

which phrases read awkwardly? I'm gonna write something tomorrow so I appreciate tips

shit i read it twice to find them but i dont remember exactly what i was looking at before (im having memory problems on this medication lately)

on my 2nd and 3rd reads of your review, and im not sure if this is just preference or what, but mostly feel weird about some of the comma-laden sentences so ill just post them down below and maybe someone else can provide some input/call me names

What sets A Sphere in the Heart of Silence apart is its strong electronic influences, and the fact that many of the songs were written by Josh, which adds to the highly experimental nature of the album.

The overall vibe it gives is that this is Josh’s project, with a helping hand from John, rather than the other way round.

Duelling guitars do battle over a driving drum loop, various synths come and go, all while two basslines snake their way through everything else, coalescing into a trippy, danceable mesh of aural ecstasy.

a lot of the writing in this review is really impressive though and again i might be wrong about the quoted sentences and it might also be preference goodbye

thanks man I actually agree with those and was expecting it, it's a bad habit of mine (long sentences with millions of commas)

I've already edited this a few times since posting it to rectify a few similar situations but I wasn't/still aren't really sure what to do with those highlighted sentences so I just left it cos I figured nobody would see this again once it got bumped off the front page anyway

I'll try to avoid that sort of thing in my johnny marr review

much appreciated mate

haha don't be sorry dude I just meant that I expected traffic to dry up once it wasn't immediately visible cos there aren't that many frusciante fans on the site

I appreciate the views and comments and tips man

like i write only for myself and only when inspiration strikes but still it's always nice to get any kind of feedback, especially from users whose opinions I value

yeah dude of course you can, I look forward to reading it!

I agree with writing seriously being stressful that's why I only do it when i feel the urge because that makes it fun

like being contrib and having to constantly pump out the new releases would be a total burden
