I thought he lost some luster with the well-received IYRTITL, which had a few good songs, and then really disliked Views and agree with the "autopilot" description. I dunno, he just sucks now, exchanged embarrassing qualities for lamer and boring-er putatively unembarrassing ones, and it's been years since he compelled me in any way. Scorpion was trash, nothing was the same since nothing was the same pretty much
def really nosedived with Views though. I like "childs play" the most of the Views songs

the ghostwriting discussion is kinda moot for me at this point when there's so much proof of drake ghostwriting for kanye and tons of other artists out there
don't necessarily think kendrick is sitting alone in a dark room writing his raps either at this point

alex the people in this thread don’t even listen to old school hip hop to posture like they care about ghostwriting. it’s always been a thing, even snoop dogg has had people him write through all the eras of his career. shit doesn’t really matter tbh

Ghostwriting absolutely matters if you're trying to put yourself in the best rapper conversation what the fuck are yall talking about lmao. Drake would get a pass on ghostwriting if he just doing his melodic pop shit but no he thinks he's a rap king too. And him writing for other people doesn't mean shit, everyone in the biz writes for other people. No one is arguing Drake has 0 musical talent, whats questionable is his ability to write bars because we know he's had raps written for him.
No one gives a shit that Dr. Dre and Kanye had their verses written for em, they're not about the bars and dont pretend otherwise. Drake pretends though. So he's gonna get judged.
