I agree with you, my underlying argument (being conscious about what we up-vote and what we down-vote) is applicable to all sorts of content. I believe, however, that boycotting the music industry (to stick with that example for a second) is different insofar as that there are much more people involved in the elaboration of the content. In other words, a single picture of a fluffy cute little doggo makes it almost impossible to have "whistleblowers" that could shed a light on the real conditions behind the scenes.
Plus, it's not a monetary boycott that I'm talking about. We aren't harming people by down-voting their content (whereas a painter or musician might be indirectly harmed by less publicity). We are simply 'balancing' (I suppose) what is being made immediately visible (front page) and what is not. Sort of like voting, just with likes.

Gruesome is great but they sound like death before human. Atheist so far hasn‘t quite clicked with me and Cynic is great but doesn't really feel DM overall tbh. The Contortionist certainly took some big inspiration from them though

the band is very good but i suppose its more a question of how similar sizeof finds it to human/itp/symbolic
definitely a symphonic and neoclassical bent to those guys tho which makes it all the more unique

Maybe they can be my next discog review after Steely Dan? They definitely need more love on here
I just love how strange their synths sound... very "uncanny valley"-esque
