They should get as much attention as this band, especially seeing as they actually came first despite often being labelled as a
Tame Impala side project.
I always thought Kevin Parker was more deserving of attention because he's just such a gifted songwriter. At least more so than Nick and the rest of Pond in my opinion. Tame Impala is an overall well tuned music machine- his lyrics are deep and the music is just the perfect blend of psychedelia and pop. Pond is great, but they're just heavy trippy rock with nothing else to offer. I agree that they do deserve more recognition, because they're a fantastic group, but they're not on Tame Impala's level in my opinion.

Interesting, I agree to an extent with what you said about each band but for me it works the other way around. Tame Impala are indeed a well tuned music machine with well refined song writing but they don't have much else to offer other than well-composed, catchy neo-psych songs with a strong 60's psych pop influence (not that there's anything wrong with that). Pond on the other hand are much more adventurous and unpredictable and as a result come across as more trippy. They're not as constrained to Kevin's more conventional song writing which I think works in their favour making Pond somewhat more interesting.

That's very true. I guess I didn't give Pond enough credit. I suppose it comes down to taste in the end. I will always prefer Kevin's music to Pond, but I do enjoy Pond's heavier and more frantic sound. Definitely more exciting than anything Tame Impala have done.

Dang this is really good, not really what I was expecting. Massive album with a great sense of atmosphere that is very warm and sunny, it is very rare to hear an album so huge in scope while still being so happy. The drums are pretty sweet too, it's aesthetically like a happy doom metal in a way.

This is such an upper 4. I mean, the mid-half makes my rating for this lower a little, Music To Walk
Home By/Why Won't They Talk To Me/Feels Like We Only Go Backwards. But fuck, Apocalypse Dreams is
otherwordly, Endors Toi is brilliant, Elephant is bliss, Keep On Lying is so catchy, Be Above It is
the perfect opener and Sun Is Coming Up is the perfect closer. Anyway, this album is the shit.
