Then again, maybe I’m just giving it a charitable read out of some obligatory sense of nostalgia, because here I am, listening to Uno!, a record that duds like a crumpled up piece of paper hitting the rim a of a trash can, longing for the days when Green Day imploded like a neutron star, capable of inspiring something other than a nagging sense of disappointment.
Massive sentence.

Kill The DJ makes my butthole pucker. What a god awful song, with some god awful lyrics to boot.
Excellent review btw.
Loved the summary too.
Pos'd hard.

Are you talking about BJs or just BJ?

haha

Okay.
Not to sound like a tool. I don't want to troll anymore.
But does anyone really even care anymore about this band? We all knew this was going to be terrible, right?

"This question and more are posed by this fascinating work, a release that demands of the listener the care and attention afforded it by its creators. Free from grandly theatrical flourishes that were threatening to become things of creative captivity, ¡Uno!’s graceful manoeuvres confirm Green Day’s status as one of the world’s finest rock’n’roll bands."

The album is mostly bland, and the band members are obviously total douchebags by now (as evidenced by cover arts and the new videos), but it's not a 1/5, come on.

This is a masterful review that succeeds in turning those who liked the album against Green Day, hence
the sudden score decrease. I stand by my ears.

After reading, I admit I was even affected and almost turned. The guy makes every valid point but in
the end, this album feels like a natural Green Day album compared to 21st century. I know every one is
saying to stop mentioning that album, but here is my argument:
Adam states that 21st is better because Green Day at least made an effort to make a statement, and Uno
is too safe and thus deserves a 1/5. My opinion is a bit different. Yes, 21st century was a great
effort, but most of the music SUCKS. Before Uno came out, every one was criticizing it for being too
epic, yet now that is its strength? Isn't Green Day known for being simple yet clever? Then you have
Uno, which is consistent in having simple and enjoyable music, but yes, a bit too safe. I'd rather have
decent safe music than epic annoying music.

"cant believe there are non-pre teen girls who enjoy this"
Teen girls nowadays don't even know Green Day exist.
NOTE: Bassline at the start of Let Yourself Go = bassline at the start of Maria. How is one a credible song and the other a piece of ass song? #confused

Also, 21CB wasn't even a statement. Idiot was a statement. Breakdown was just a tepid rehash of the formula with added ridiculousness. Can't believe I gave it a 4 back then!
