And they'd just comunicated to have become a studio band. I thought we'd still have them around for a while in that form, but I'm afraid the constant of having a new Magnum every other year is over. The new album could be their swansong

Can't believe we lost James Kottak.and Tony Clarkin a few days apart, sad days for the rock of old. Rest in peace.

So glad I managed to see them in 2018. A lot of sweet current songs (Show Me Your Hands, Sacred Blood Divine Lies, etc) and people were unexpectedly singing to Jerusalem

I haven't explored enough of their discog but definitely want to, especially with a new album coming up shortly.

Wouldn't associate your taste with this album Mars, pleasant surprise. Had this one on tape when I was 10.or so. Good memories.

I'm also not super knowledgable about this discography because, I mean, *gesticulates at the size*

but I'd give two suggestions:

- don't miss out on the debut. It's proggy and has a mildly heavy metal feel in a few places. Def reminds of early Queen. And if you like that, then the forgotten second album is worth a shot too (it's both poppier and proggier depending on the song... surely a transition)

- of the recent ones I feel Sacred Blood Divine Lies is a neat approach point. Not very ornate, but solid. And the album right after would be an ideal next step (highlights have richer composition, but the album is long and as a whole has a few filler-ish songs)

I grew up on a lot of 70s and 80s rock in the house. Haven't rated much of it, but this definitely scratches that itch + there's some power metal crossover (got into these guys from Avantasia)

I've only heard Chase the Dragon and Princess Alice beyond this so looks like I got work to do!

My favorite is The Eleventh Hour for sure, but I haven't heard most their modern albums.

And the new one is pretty solid too btw.
