You can consider R2S as Mala's actual debut, but he doesn't see it that way. That release may hold what I consider my fav tune of his, however.

i honestly don't like r2s that much
the dmz/mala singles are where it's at imo

You can view it as three separate twelve inches though, the plates are labeled as that as well. Mala in Cuba flows better, but R2S has the standouts imo.

Can't go wrong with the first ten DMZ releases or so, of course. Looking forward to no. 30, 2 Much Chat!!

I mean Mala in Cuba is obviously something else entirely but when it comes to dmz/mala's major contributions to dubstep it's anti war dub, haunted, earth a run red and those tunes for me.
the r2s tracks aren't bad but they don't bring it in the same way.

I like r2s a lot but I do think the mala/DMZ single 12"s that came before it held all of the best work to come out of them.

R2S has Unexpected and Mountain Dread March which together with Anti War Dub and Stand Against War are my fav Mala pieces, I think.

Yeah, saw him this year at Pukkelpop festival. Absolutely magnificent. Show of the year for me. And that's saying a lot, 'cause I also saw Springsteen for the first time ever.

haha that's great. definitely not the best show ever (honestly I prefer his recordings to his live show) but still good. anamanguchi's probably show of the year for me thus far, though k.flay and kid koala come close

Used to be big on chiptune, but I grew tired of it tbh. But those shows are at least very entertaining most of the time, yeah.

yeah, especially the whole high-energy feel of anamanaguchi. we ended up accidentally standing on the edge of the mosh pit which was super fun. plus like 4 or 5 people got up on stage and dove back into the crowd every song

Finally got around to giving the Changes (Distance Remix) vinyl a spin and holy shit is it just awesome, and fortunately I hadn't rinsed it to death already (as was the case when I got Badman VIP).

Do you prefer it? Both are definitely great but I like the changes RMX more, but I've always liked changes way more than miracles.

Just very recreationally as a bedroom DJ or for a few friends, why?
