Love the album. Today happened to be a pretty rough day, and Gravity was just so beautifully optimistic, so i ended up listening to it about 10 times in the past few hours.

Best APC to date, Maynard's voice is so captivating. I hope that his vocal talent will only get better for the new tool release in may.

i agree with most of what is written here... apart from what you said about "the package" over staying its welcome with its big build up.... start listening to opeth and then you will understand the power and beauty of a build up..

the outsider is in my opinion by far the strongest song on this album, although "pet" is also a great song along with "the noose

I said 'almost' overstaying. 'Almost' is the key word, meaning that it builds to just the right amount.

Mer De Noms has some excellent songs, but a few that weren't as good in my opinion. This album contains tracks that are all at least decent if not excellent.

Yeah, the second half of Mer De Noms is a lot weaker than the first. However, Orestes is possibly the best track APC have ever done IMO.

I can't decide what to get, Thirteenth Step or Mer De Noms.

Problem is Judith is on Mer De Noms, but most people think Thirteenth Step is a better album.

I love Judith, apparently it's a song about Maynard blaming God for his mother's paralysis because his mother was really religious and he fought it was unfair how she became paralyzed.

I'm completely head over heels in love with the album. As a concept it is beautiful. The Noose, Pet, Gravity and the Package are the best songs on it IMO. And too, I was surprised by the many people turned of by The nurse who loved me. I thought it added that much a dark imagery to the album its innocent sound hiding something very sinister underneath, at least that's what I felt.
