good as always (much more similar to tbk rather than ts). I don't think the album will be less than good but i don't think it's gonna be great as well. but we'll see.

the title sounds stupid imo

The new album is just over 2 hours with 8 tracks

itunes states it's just *under* 2 hours:

The fact that there are no songs longer than "Toussaint" gives hope that maybe the lengths are justified by content. Well, unless "The Cloud of Forgetting" and "The Cloud of Unknowing" are one song.

I've decided I don't really like Swans that much it's just this album

Most of their stuff before and after their comeback is 3-3.5 worthy

This album is still one of the craziest and most twisted things I've ever heard. I just can't say the same for TBK or TGM, both of those just felt like cheap retreads that are even more bloated but possess none of the shock/scare/wtf factors that this is overflowing with at every turn.

This is my favorite since their comeback but I disagree completely that To Be Kind and The Glowing Man are just retreads. To Be Kind is nothing like this album, more aggressive and groove based, and The Glowing Man falls into a meditative trance.

Also Soundtracks for the Blind is still the best they'll ever be

Soundtracks for the Blind is a top 10 album ever tbh

Agree with fallenbird, except The Glowing Man, while solid overall, doesn't really feel fresh for them. Finally, Peace is the perfect end to this phase of their career though.

This is my favorite of the new albums but the two after this are still excellent.

White Light is best tho

Soundtracks is top 5 or 3 for me easily.

I feel like I enjoyed TGM more than most people. The only time it doesn't feel fresh is the opener for me.

Seer is a 5, TBK is a 4.5, TGM is a 4

I don't think the albums after this one feature weaker songwriting, just the law of diminishing returns in effect
