s'all good. at any rate we can agree that circa survive rules overall, so quibbling over which album is better is pointless.

Yes, I love Circa but that surely doesn't mean every album was perfect.
And by the way, Juturna might not be completely amazing unless you're drunk or drugged up but I like
how it makes me think about things. Circa does an amazing job at creating a certain atmosphere and
that's certainly not only Green's work. I always have to disagree when they are compared with bands
that have those outstanding vocalist that carry the other three or four members of the band. That may
have been the case in Saosin but definitely not in Circa Survive.

As i stated in a list a little while ago, i think on letting go is this bands best effort, if even for nostalgic reasons, and the stronger tracks on this resemble tracks on letting go very well.

bsn was great but felt very confined, as if some one was always over seeing the songwriting process correcting circa when they strayed too far outside the lines. This is the retaliation, and reminds me a lot of juturna but after 4 or 5 listens it still hasn't clicked for me save the first two songs.
I can't wait to love this album, basically.

the word 'experimental' is thrown around too often, but a fair bit of what circa does is - to a point - experimental.

Juturna is my personal favorite out of all the Circa releases. I even managed to get it signed by Anthony Green, and the asshole convinced me to buy Maps & Atlases' album Perch Patchwork or I get my money back. PP was good too, though.

Absolutely love, love this not their best, definitely on par with BSN.

Listened to some of VW on youtube and they just weren't to my taste. Prob won't take a full listen to warrant an actual album rating. Green sounded good, tho, it was just the instrumentals that turned me off.

good review. what's with all the hate for On Letting Go, i personally like that album more than juturna

Pretty great. Phantasmagoria, Brother Song, and Blood from a Stone were instant likes for me. Didn't
care for Sharp Practice or Birth..
Bird Sounds and Think.. were missed opportunities, though they are both still pretty good.

I'm just starting to listen to this.
Your review is good and does offer a clear insight, but I actually like On Letting Go better than Juturna and thought Blue Sky Noise was kind of stale. The way you write about them is like your opinions of the last three albums are a general consensus, which was very interesting to me (not saying I'm right or you're wrong, just making conversation.)
How do the rest of you guys on here feel about their catalog in regards of best to worst and why?
Anyway, I've only heard about half of this, but I'm already feeling more replay value than I did with their last LP.

This has grown on me a lot after hearing a high quality copy as opposed to the stream rip.

@chesse13 - that was my least favourite part of the album. The song didn't really need it, seemed like a left over idea.
Albums is tits however.
