"Also:

a few very minute flaws with The Seer

You should fix it.

Other than that, good review."

What's wrong with it? Does it just read awkwardly?

Well, English isn't my native language, so maybe it's correct and i just didn't know, but didn't you mean "very few minor flaws" or something like that?

I don't really know what "a few very minute flaws" means.

Minute is a synonym for small, minor, etc. But thanks for keeping an eye out!

Listened to this twice now. Having a hard time deciding what my rating will be.

Only listened to Filth, and that was almost unlistenable. Don't know if I'll pick this up.

the majority of their work is nothing like filth really, it came out nearly 30 years ago, bands are bound to change

I headed over to your classic ratings to post one here and be funny but there was just TOO MUCH CHOICE.

Still can't decide if this is best swans or second best swans but that's probably because it is good enough for me to reserve special nights for listening (being that long helps that as well) and I haven't had enough of those.

I feel like I'm pretty open minded about music but this band hasn't really clicked for me. I may go see them play next month though and maybe that'll do it.

Good review! Pos'd

This is definitely my AOTY, and the only album in the same realm that could possibly match this is Neurosis' Honor Found in Decay. Other albums just seem so insignificant. I get off to albums that place me in other worlds...especially those that are hard to understand and unsettling. Not to mention that The Seer is exactly what I've wanted from the band ever since hearing Swans Are Dead. Those post-rockish tracks (ex. Feel Happiness and Blood Promise) were both terrifying and cathartic.

Just streamed the album.

It rules, but as expected, it feels a bit overlong(to me).

Though maybe it'll feel better with a second listen.

Dude, fantastic review. This should be featured.

My only qualm with it is that it reads more like a 4.5, especially since you listed a couple flaws it has (albeit minor ones.)

how different is this when compared to Soundtracks for the Blind? I remember listening to that and thinking it was quite average, has their sound changed significantly?
