Its quite an easy listen actually I found, but each to their own.

Might need listen to this some more, but I think I might prefer their s/t over this. Still a good release though. I personally liked the last track the best.

Wasn't even aware they had a new album coming out but I'm psyched to hear it, loved their split and s/t.

album is solid, good review too

album is inches away from becoming a sputnik classic
lol

Solid review. At this point I think I prefer the s/t, as I was only truly impressed by "Phantoms" and "Convict All Flesh". Maybe the album will grow on me.

This is, of course, coming from someone who thought their demo was their worst release.

i prefer this production mostly because you can actually make out properly what the drums are doing :]
Whaaaaaat. You can tell what they're doing fine on their older stuff!
The part around 7:30-8:00 in Convict All Flesh is fucking amazing
edit- specifically 7:50 onwards
The beginning part was one of the reasons I didn't feel as strongly about this album, actually. At 7:30 the lead melody is good, but it feels like the rhythm guitar is too quiet and not powerful enough to make this section as epic and driving as it should have been.
Still good record though. Need more listens to decide a rating.

they sounded like a complete mess and almost sound as if they were sped up (no i'm not saying they were, i know they weren't, it's just the way it sounds) and it bugged me to no end
much crisper here

good review. giving it a listen now, the increased mix/production value didn't hurt their sound as far as i'm concerned
but so far the riffs haven't been particularly inspired.
edit: okay well "convict all flesh" is really good.

Don't think I've heard that one yet. What do you think is their best?

123.
Don't think this is better than the s/t as of right now, and it's definitely on the level of the 2009 demo or the split with Fell Voices, but it's still great stuff.

Decent. Nothing extra ordinary though.

@Crysis: I like their self-titled the best, or maybe the tour rehearsal demo. Split with FV is also good, and as far as complete albums go, that may be the winner (if you include both sides).

Fucking bang on review, especially the part about production values. The production on this makes it better in the end and I'm glad you mentioned the drums.
still debating if I should listen to this. when you say it's clean, how clean do you mean?
You have nothing to worry about my buddy, if you like their old stuff, you will like this. Fags pretend they've lost their sound.

Agreed. I mean, despite the production, this album sounds way more "evil" than their other releases. They lost a lot of their post-rock-y twinkle, which was relatively minimal to begin with.
