Not a bad album, certainly better than Maladroit.

It is a good album for what It's worth. I suppose Rivers just didn't want to dissapoint people after the brilliant yet unsuccessful Pinkerton, so he made loads of radio friendly songs. This album would've been awesome if some of It's b-sides were on it. Such as - My Brain, Teenage victory song and No Way.good review, but i completely disagree.

Songs get a little too repetitive, but there are some good ones, nonetheless. The singing is a little lax, the guitar playing is too soft, it's like everyone in the band is simultaneously daydreaming. With a pinch more energy, this would have been a great album. But it's still okay.

Photograph and Simple Pages are the best on this. The only week track is O Girlfriend. Pinkerton is so fucking overrated.

I'm even okay with Maladroit but I can see why people don't like it.

Keep Fishing and Dope Nose are the only songs I can stand on that disc. I was supremely pissed when I bought it before listening to it and hearing it the first time.

Photograph and Don't let go are fantastic songs.

The rest, Island in the sun excepted, is just lazy re-writes of said songs

This is actually my favorite album of all time, all of the songs are just so catchy and they are not about any specific situation, but they are easy to relate to. I love the bass on "Island In The Sun" and that is also my favorite song of all time (I know some people may disagree) and the backing vocals on "Photograph" are just so good. To me it sounds just like The Blue Album, but just with a more polished sound and if I'm honest Matt was rather annoying a lot of the time, Mikey was perfect for the band and he had so much potential.
