I will cede that vii is a great game.

however, it doesn't come close to being better than vi. Think about how character customization was handled in each game. in vi, every character had their own unique ability that distinguished them, and then magic which could be used to customize. In vii, the only unique thing about a character were the limit breaks. who gives a shit about limit breaks

but materia customization, mini games, combat system, soundtrack, background design... (the list goes on and on..)

materia customization made the game boring. it made every character essentially the same. the soundtrack thing isn't even an option, they're both perfect. can't cite one over the other. Also, vi does a much better job of character development. have you played both games?

yea and tbh i got kinda bored, i did finish the first 2 FF games in the origin pack for PS1 so it wasnt due to the game being visually outdated or anything

VI and IX are my favorite FF games. VI has my favorite storyline out of any of the ones I have played. Kefka might be one of the best villains I have ever seen in a video game.

It's easy to get a little overwhelmed/confused/apathetic when you get to the world of ruin and the game becomes about 99% open-world.

Kefka is easily my favorite video game villain ever, because he's pure evil. also he's just making it up as he goes. he has no idea what he's doing, he just improvises and it's perfect.

sephi may have mum syndrome, but when he goes on a rampage and casts meteor it just sets the most awesome mood ever in a video game

kefka is weird but in a good way, some of his speeches are so over the top

I haven't played Chrono Trigger yet. It's next on my list. I'm fairly certain it will be my second video game 5 though.

vi is the only video game I have 5d rn.

well damn, youre missing out big time. also those characters designed by akira toriyama, always remind me of dragon ball hahaha

if youre just about gameplay and outdated grafics arent an issue (even tho the game still looks great) then give it a try

I prefer vi's graphics to vii, viii, and x. those are outdated graphics. 16-bit may be "outdated" but it hasn't aged as poorly as early playstation graphics. I have a rom and an emulator for Chrono Trigger, I just have to finish my current play through Fallout: New Vegas.
